Dr. Kelly Nassour was named Executive Vice President for Institutional Advancement for UTRGV and Chief Executive Officer of the UTRGV Foundation in May of 2015. Under her leadership, the University has raised $284 million in private support and the endowment has grown to $190 million.
Prior to joining UTRGV, Dr. Nassour was Executive Vice President of Institutional Advancement at the University of Colorado System. She was responsible for all fundraising efforts at the four university component institutions and managed the conclusion of a $1 billion capital campaign.
She also worked at Texas Tech University as the Vice Chancellor of Institutional Advancement and Chief Executive Officer of the Texas Tech Foundation. During her time at Texas Tech, she provided leadership and vision to implement and complete a $1 billion capital campaign and led a development team that raised more than $150 million annually. She also managed the operations of the Texas Tech Foundation, which oversees an endowment of more than $1 billion.
Prior to becoming Vice Chancellor at Texas Tech, Dr. Nassour was the Director of Development at Texas Tech Health Sciences Center El Paso School of Medicine. While there, she received a $50 million cash gift from Paul L. Foster to name and endow the School of Medicine.
Nassour holds a doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration from The University of Texas El Paso, a master’s degree in Education Administration from The University of Texas El Paso, and a bachelor’s degree in Public Relations from Texas Tech University.
