About our A.I. and Machine Learning Progress

The Central American Locust project uses Ecological Niche Modeling (ENM) to estimate where the CAL is likely to occur based on climate, vegetation, soils, and other environmental layers.

ENM helps us anticipate risk before swarms form, prioritize field surveys, and protect crops across the Lower Rio Grande Valley.

This ENM effort is advanced by our AI Ambassadors, Edwin Biju and Katana Mireles, who integrate field observations and environmental rasters, evaluate models, and translate results into actionable maps for Fieldwork & Mapping.
