    Description Prerequisites
    An introduction to Engineering Technology as a career. This course introduces students to skills and resources that will help them be successful in their academic and professional career. Topics include approaches to solving industrial problems, design and working as a member of a team. None
  • ENGT 1105 Machine Shop Lab [0-3] 
    Description Prerequisites
    A course that introduces the student to machining fundamentals. The student will use basic machine tools including the lathe, milling machine, drill press, power saw, and bench grinder. Machine terminology, theory, math, part layout, and bench work using common measuring tools is included. Emphasis is placed on shop safety, housekeeping, and preventative maintenance. ENGT 1310
  • ENGT 1310 Design Graphics I [2-3]
    Description Prerequisites
    This course is an introduction to solid modeling, includes sketching, CAD modeling, geometric construction, shape description, orthographic projection, sectional views, auxiliary views, threads, fasteners, and an introduction to working drawings. None
  • ENGT 1320 Design Graphics II [2-3]
    Description Prerequisites
    This is an advanced CAD course that emphasize surface and solid modeling catering to industry standards, which includes ANSI/ASME CAD standards, fits and tolerances, GD&T, product assembly, and simulation. ENGT 1310
  • ENGT 3301 CNC Programming [2-3]
    Description Prerequisites
    The study of CNC operations with an emphasis on programming and operations of machining centers. This will include Tooling and Production. ENGT 1320, ENGT 2307 and ENGT 1105
  • ENGT 2307 Engineering Materials  [2-3]
    Description Prerequisites
    This course covers forming and classification of steel, cast iron, and non-ferrous materials.Topics include mechanical and physical properties, testing, alloying, selection, iron-carbon diagrams, heat treatment, polymers, composites, ceramics, electronic materials and nano-materials. CHEM 1311 or CHEM 1307
  • ENGT 2310 Manufacturing Processes [2-3]
    Description Prerequisites
    This course is an exploration of variety of manufacturing methods. Also covered are the processes including but not limited to metal forming, joining, machining, heat treating, casting, and  additive manufacturing processes. ENGT 2307
  • ENGT 3303 Prog. Logic Controllers [2-3]
    Description Prerequisites
    This is an introduction to the world of programmable logic controllers. The student will learn the basics of how to program and set up a PLC. The student will also learn the different addressing and programming styles and be challenged to write a program for simple automation. Various PLCs will be discussed. ELEE 2317

    Description Prerequisites
    Transducer characteristics and applications. Sensor and measurement systems for major process variables: temperature, pressure, level, flow, and other physical variables. Design on signal conditioning circuits. Data acquisition and instrumentation networks. ENGT 3303
  • ENGT 3324 Metrology [2-3]
    Description Prerequisites
    An analysis of the basic principles of linear and geometric dimensional metrology. Topics include basic measuring instruments; mechanical, electronic, pneumatic, and optical measuring instruments; quality data acquisition systems; coordinate measuring machines; attribute gaging; geometric functional gaging; surface integrity determination; and geometric profile measurement.   • ENGT 4201 Technical Project I [0-6]
    Description Prerequisites
    This is a capstone course spanning two consecutive semesters. This course includes application of skills, knowledge, techniques, and concepts to design and manufacturing. Emphasis is placed on project management, documentation, and presentation. Credit for or enrollment in ENGT 2201, ENGT 2310, ENGT 3318, ENGT 3324, MANE 3337 and Credit for or enrollment in ENGT 4335
  • ENGT 4315 Robotics [2-3]
    Description Prerequisites
    This course covers the operation of industrial robots. Topics include the classification of robots, activators, grippers, work envelopes, computer interfaces, overlapping work envelopes, installation, and programming. Upon completion, students should be able to install, program, and troubleshoot industrial robots. ENGT 3303 and ENGT 3324
  • ENGT 4202 Technical Project II [0-6]
    Description Prerequisites
    This course is the continuation and completion of project on design and manufacturing initiated in ENGT 4201. ENGT 4201
  • ENGT 4326 Lean Six Sigma [3-0]
    Description Prerequisites
    A study of the Lean Six Sigma quality and process improvement methodology, using the define, measure, analyze, improve, and control processes. The course addresses advanced topics in statistical quality; introduces quality management concepts as they pertain to the Lean Six Sigma methodology. ENGT 3324, MANE 3337
  • ENGT 4335 Project Management [3-0]
    Description Prerequisites
    This course presents the specific concepts, systems, and technologies for managing projects effectively. The role of the project manager as team leader is examined together with important techniques for controlling project costs, schedules, and performance.  Topics include planning, scheduling, CPM, PERT, cost estimation, resource allocation and time-cost tradeoff.   • ENGT 3300 Topics in Engineering Technology [3-0]
    Description Prerequisites
    Topics selected from current issues of concern in engineering technology. May be repeated for credit when topics change. Consent of instructor
