Artist Statement
I have always looked for ways to create since I was little. It’s an enjoyable way to pass time. My earliest memory of being exposed to the world of graphic design was at seven years old. As I passively watched the film 13 Going On 30, the protagonist’s job as a magazine editor looked incredibly fun. It really stuck with me while growing up. In high school, I started learning a couple Adobe programs during my free time, becoming more interested in the idea of becoming a designer. It wasn’t until 2020 that I started prioritizing my studies in design. I have, and continue to, put in a lot of time towards learning. I soak up design everywhere I go. Billboards, packaging, restaurant menus – just everyday objects that I’m surrounded by. I dissect what I see and learn from them. My process usually begins with rough sketches and ideating. Pinterest, Behance, and Instagram are my absolute favorite places to find inspiration. It’s often a trial-and-error process, but what I learn along the way is really valuable.
