Minor in Cyber Security (for non-majors)
The purpose of the minor in Cyber Security is to allow students majoring in UTRGV programs other than Bachelor of Science in Cyber Security to get familiar with the important and growing field of cyber security which impacts almost every aspect of our society and life.
The minor in Cyber Security aligns with and supports the mission of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley and The College of Engineering and Computer Science by promoting secured innovative and accessible educational environment for student success, research, creative works and community engagement. This is accomplished by providing students with the knowledge of cyber security tools, practices, and procedures to engage in secured computing and communication. Application for Minor in Cyber Security
The Department of Informatics and Engineering Systems offers a BS in Cyber Security and MS in Informatics in hybrid mode to facilitate access to the programs from other campuses. (hybrid mode: face-to-face classes in Brownsville and OSYNC for others with exams in Brownsville & Edinburg).
