 Interprofessional Education 2023 Symposium
Call for Abstracts
"Building Bonds of Collaboration Through Shared Knowledge and Experiences"

Friday April 14, 2023 - UTRGV Edinburg Ballroom

The interprofessional education committee cordially invites faculty, staff, and students to submit an abstract to be considered for presentation or general poster session for the inaugural Interprofessional Education Symposium.  

The 2023 symposium theme is “Building Bonds of Collaboration through shared knowledge and experiences”  

Subtopics include: 

  • Clinical collaborative practice models  
  • Faculty development 
  • Interprofessional Educational strategies and Practice 
  • Curricular innovations 
  • Research 
  • Evaluation and assessment
  • Policy and advocacy 

 

Oral Presentations

Oral presentations are 20-minute presentations followed by 5 minutes for questions and answers.  

Abstract submission required details:  

  • Select subtopic
  • Abstract title 
  • Abstract authors
  • Abstract presenter (One presenter permitted) 
  • Abstract (250-word limit)
  • At least 3 learning objectives
  • Pearl of Wisdom (take home message) 

 

Poster Presentations 

Posters are a useful way to communicate ideas about innovative approaches to IPE teaching practice and research findings. 

Abstract submission required details: 

  • Select subtopic
  • Abstract title
  • Abstract authors
  • Abstract presenter (One presenter permitted)
  • Abstract (250-word limit)
  • At least 3 learning objectives
  • Pearl of wisdom (take home message)

Poster guidelines 

Posters should be standard size (3’x4’) in landscape orientation.  

Acceptance Process  

The deadline for submissions is February 24, 2023 

      Presenters must plan to present in person at the UTRGV Edinburg campus. Attendees will be given the option to view the presentation in person or virtually.

  •       Abstracts will be reviewed using a blind peer review process.
  •       Acceptance letters will be sent out March 10th, 2023
  •       Presenters whose proposals are accepted are required to register for the conference by April 1st for their sessions to be scheduled. Use the following link register. Registration is free.

Please note: Authors may submit multiple abstracts for any presentation type (oral presentations or posters).  Any abstract submitted may be considered by reviewers for a different type of abstract than the one submitted (e.g., you have submitted for an oral presentation but could be accepted as a poster presentation). You will be contacted directly if this is the case.
