Master of Education in Educational Technology

The M.Ed. in Educational Technology is a 30-hour, fully online, accelerated, project-based program designed to prepare persons in K-12, higher education, corporate, healthcare, government, and military settings to develop the skills and knowledge necessary for the classrooms and boardrooms of tomorrow. EdTech professionals and thought leaders of today and tomorrow. Graduates of this program will have a much better understanding of the uses of technology and how they can be applied in instructional/training settings. Students in this accelerated program can earn their degrees in as little as 10 months!

AECT Standards

The program is aligned with the AECT professional standards that emphasize the theory, research, and practical applications of educational technology to prepare individuals for effective practice and leadership:

AECT Standard 1

  • Demonstrate the knowledge necessary to create, use, assess, and manage theoretical and practical applications of educational technologies and processes.

AECT Standard 2

  • Develop as reflective practitioners able to demonstrate effective implementation of educational technologies and processes based on contemporary content and pedagogy.

AECT Standard 3

  • Facilitate learning by creating, using, evaluating, and managing effective learning environments

AECT Standard 4

  • Design, develop, implement, and evaluate technology-rich learning environments within a supportive community of practice

AECT Standard 5

  • Explore, evaluate, synthesize, and apply methods of inquiry to enhance learning and improve performance

The Master’s ePortfolio serves as the final assessment in place of a comprehensive exam, highlighting your progress, growth, and achievements throughout the program.
