Repertoire
All participants will choose a cello ensemble appropriate for their skill level
You can choose the ensemble on the application form by grade and skill level. If you want to change your original cello ensemble choice, you may do so during the first rehearsal at the festival.
All registered participants will receive an email with a link to a shared folder to access the music for their cello ensemble. Make sure you enter a working email in the application form!
The shared parts will be marked with bowings and fingering suggestions.
Participants and their teachers can choose parts, using the Repertoire List as a guide to choose parts appropriate for the skill level of the participant. Six minimum required skill levels are assigned to all parts on the Repertoire List. Level 1 is the easiest, Level 6 is the highest required skill level.
A good rule of thumb: if you can sight read it fairly well, you can learn it quickly to play well in the performance. Choose something harder only if you can put in the time to come well prepared!
Teachers: If you are registering many students, help us balance the ensemble by assigning a balanced variety of parts from top to bottom to your students.
To ensure that we will have an even cello ensemble, with enough strong cellists for every part, some participants might be asked to switch to another part at the first rehearsal.
