Submit Your Documents
All the information you need to submit your documents is listed below. Please review the details carefully to ensure everything is submitted correctly and on time.
Test Scores must be received directly from the Testing Agency that oversees them.
- ACT: ACT scores must be received directly from ACT. Log in to your MyACT account and request to send your score report to The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (school code 6991). Superscores accepted.
- SAT: SAT scores must be received directly from the College Board. Log in to your College Board account and request to send your scores to The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (school code 6568)
- AP: Advanced Placement (AP) scores must be received directly from the College Board. Log in to your College Board account and request to send your scores to The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (school code 6568).
- IB: International Baccalaureate (IB) scores must be received directly from IB. Contact IB to have your official transcript sent to The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
- CLEP: College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) scores must be received directly from the College Board. Log in to your College Board account and request to send your scores to The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (school code 6568).
- TSI: Texas Success Initiative (TSI) scores must be received directly from the College Board. Log in to your Accuplacer account and share your score report with The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
- Applicants who have not completed high school: at the time of application need to submit a transcript containing grades for all courses completed at the time of application. Transcripts received directly from the high school are preferred but applicants can upload a copy through Document Central or email it to application@utrgv.edu.
- Homeschooled graduates: Home-school transcript can be emailed to application@utrgv.edu. The transcript must contain the graduation date, GPA, and signature of a school official.
- GED graduates: GED certificates can be emailed to application@utrgv.edu. Include a copy of your high school transcript showing all the coursework completed before earning the GED.
- Public and Private High School graduates: Transcripts must be sent directly from the school or delivered in person in a sealed school envelope. The transcript must contain the graduation date, GPA, ranking (if school ranks), graduation plan (if Texas public school), and signature of a school official.
Institutions can use different transcript delivery methods. UTRGV’s preferred method to receive official transcripts from Texas schools is electronically through TREX.

- Official college transcripts are required from all colleges or universities attended. Coursework from one institution posted on another institution’s transcript is not acceptable.
- For a transcript to be considered official, it must be sent electronically or by mail directly from the institution to The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
- Unofficial transcripts or transcripts “Issued to Student” will not be accepted.
- Transcripts for college courses taken for dual credit/concurrent enrollment while in high school are also required.
- If the transcript contains in-progress grades, an updated official transcript must be sent once grades are available.
Institutions can use different transcript delivery methods. UTRGV’s preferred method of receiving official transcripts is electronically through SPEEDE.

Foreign documents must be sent to get evaluated by one of the following agencies and the evaluation must be sent to The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley directly from the agency once completed:
- The Evaluation Company (formerly SPANTRAN)
- Foreign Credentials Service of America (FCSA)
- World Education Services (WES)
- International Education Evaluation (IEE)
Evaluations must contain GPA, diploma/degree equivalency, and course-by-course evaluation.
Applicants with post-secondary coursework:
Note: Foreign academic coursework is typically evaluated as general elective credit and may not satisfy degree requirements other than elective credits. To see if the coursework can satisfy specific degree requirements, applicants need to email admissions@utrgv.edu the following documents as soon as possible (this is in addition to the Credential Evaluation that must be received from one of the agencies listed above):- A certified English translation of all course descriptions and course syllabi
- A copy of their foreign transcript
- IELTS: Log in to your IELTS account and request your scores be sent to The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
- Duolingo: Log in to your Duolingo account and request your scores to be sent to The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley — Undergraduate program.
- TOEFL: Log in to your ETS account and request to send your TOEFL scores to The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (school code 6570). TOEFL IBT, Essentials, and MyBest are accepted. TOEFL ITP from other institutions is not accepted.
- Pearson PTE Academic: Log into your myPTE account and share your score with The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
- Exemptions: Click here to see the list of exemptions. Exemptions based on coursework require an official transcript to be on file with the Office of Undergraduate Admissions before the exemption can be applied to the application.
Vaccination records: Records can be uploaded through Document Central or emailed to application@utrgv.edu. The vaccine must be given within the 5 years before the start of the term you applied for. The document must contain your full name, date of birth, vaccine name, date vaccine was given, and signature/stamp from the physician/facility that administered the vaccine. If emailing the document, include your UTRGV student ID number.
These are the most common names used on vaccination records to identify the vaccine: MCV4, MCV, MPSV4, Men B, Menactra, Trumenba, Bexsero, Menveo, Penbraya, MenQuadfi.
Affidavit for Exemption: The affidavit must be notarized. The original hard-copy document must be submitted within 90 days of notarization. No copies are allowed. Documents can be mailed in or delivered in person.
