Conditional Admission

Conditional admission is an opportunity for applicants who may not meet all the standard admission criteria but demonstrate potential or are awaiting the completion of specific requirements. This pathway allows you to start your graduate studies under certain conditions that must be met to continue in the program.

GRE & GMAT Entrance Exam Information

The GRE is a required admissions test for some graduate programs at UTRGV and the GMAT is required for some business programs at UTRGV.

English Proficiency Exam

Applicants whose native language is not English are required to demonstrate their English proficiency to ensure they can succeed in their academic programs. This is especially important for students whose coursework will primarily be in English.

Foreign Credential Evaluation

If you have earned academic credentials from outside the United States, you are required to submit an official Foreign Credential Evaluation as part of the application process. This evaluation ensures that your international transcripts are equivalent to U.S. educational standards and helps our admissions team assess your qualifications accurately.

 Graduate Application Fee Information

At The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV), we are proud to make graduate education accessible and affordable. Most of our graduate programs currently do not require an application fee. However, application fees are non-refundable for programs that do require them.
