David Granado
Mr. David Granado brings more than 12 years of experience in academic administration, faculty resource management, strategic planning, and the implementation of key initiatives. Since 2013, he has held various administrative roles within the Division of Academic Affairs at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV). He previously served as Assistant Dean for Administration in the College of Education and P-16 Integration.
In 2018, Mr. Granado transitioned to the Office of the Provost at UTRGV, where he currently serves as Deputy to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs. In this capacity, he acts as a senior advisor to the provost, providing strategic analysis, planning, and implementation support. In addition, he collaborates with university leadership on key initiatives and oversees the management of academic administration policies and procedures.
Mr. Granado’s academic background is in Accounting and Business Administration. He is a two-time graduate of UTRGV's legacy institution, The University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA), having earned his BBA in 2007 and MACC in 2008. He is also currently pursuing an Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership from The University of Texas at Austin. Prior to his career in higher education, he worked for four years as an Internal Compliance Auditor for the Hidalgo County Auditor’s Office.
