Alexandro Trevino
Since joining The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) in 2015, Mr. Alexandro Trevino has undertaken various roles encompassing department operations, Ph.D. program management, budget planning, faculty recruitment, graduate student employment, instructional lab management, and teaching. He initially served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in the Department of Physics & Astronomy, where he taught physics and astronomy lab courses. In 2019, he transitioned to a full-time position as Lab Coordinator-Supervisor, followed by his appointment as Program Manager for the Department of Physics & Astronomy in 2023.
In 2024, Mr. Trevino transitioned to the Office of the Provost at UTRGV, assuming the role of Program Manager. In this capacity, he collaborates with and directly supports the Deputy to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs on numerous institutional initiatives. Additionally, he facilitates academic coordination, communication, and administrative logistics between the Office of the Provost and the university’s academic colleges.
Mr. Treviño’s academic foundation lies in the hard sciences. He earned a B.I.S. with concentrations in Physics and Mathematics from The University of Texas at Brownsville (UTB) in 2015, followed by an M.S. in Physics from UTRGV in 2017. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Physics at UTRGV, with a research focus on nano-energetics, the fabrication of nanomaterials for space applications, and high-temperature shielding. Prior to his academic and administrative roles, Mr. Treviño gained professional experience in corporate security logistics and policy.
