Engaged Scholar Institute - Creative Works Track
The Engaged Scholar Institute's Creative Works Track provides interactive, interdisciplinary sessions to get started with creative works and refine existing projects. Sessions may include topics such as Finding a Faculty Mentor, Ethics, Engaged Scholar Award for Creative Works application, and presenting your project at academic conferences and publishing in journals.
The Institutional Review Board (IRB) & CITI Certification
Presenters provide background information about the Institutional Review Board, illustrating the review process, and the evaluation of research proposals “to make sure the planned research follows the ethical principles of Human Subjects protection and that it adheres to university policies and federal regulations.”
Prepping Proposals
Students receive descriptive information about research, calls for proposal, abstracts, and how to prepare and workshop proposals for the Engaged Scholar Symposium.
Delivering Presentations
Students receive information pertaining towards creating and presenting an effective research presentation at academic conferences.
Better Posters
Students will learn how to design and showcase engaging posters that accurately present information to conference attendees.
Academic Styles of Writing
Students workshop abstract drafts for conference proposal and submission to the Engaged Scholar Symposium.
