Grow with Google HSI Career Readiness Program
In today’s rapidly changing world, young people need more digital skills than ever to succeed in school and their careers. To support our students, UTRGV Career Center has partnered with the Grow with Google HSI Career Readiness Program to provide digital skills workshops and help students obtain the training they need to excel in the workplace.
The Grow with Google HSI Career Readiness Program is a series of courses designed to teach students the digital skills they need to succeed in the modern workplace. After completing the program students can request a Google certificate and badging.
Getting Started
To begin setting up your Grow with Google account, please use this Skillshop Set up Guide.
Note: Some courses contain links to sites that may not be available in your preferred language or that require you to select your language. Also please note that the videos are only support in Google Chrome.
If you have already configured your account, you may login here to complete your lessons.
Important: When you finish a lesson, you must hit the mark as complete button found at the end of each lesson for it to be counted.
Create Your Account
Set up your profile on Skillshop
- Visit skillshop.withgoogle.com and click Sign In - on the upper right hand corner.
- If asked to choose an account, select Use Another Account and then click Create Account:
- Enter First and Last Name
- Select Use My current Email Address instead
- Enter your University email
- Create Password and Confirm, click Next
- Proceed to your email. Enter the code sent you email, click Next
- You will now be Welcomed to Google:
- Complete all personal fields, click Next
- Verify Phone Number? Click Not Now
- Scroll down, click I Agree and finally click Allow
- Create Profile Page:
- Enter Personal Information
- For company field, enter University of Texas Rio Grande Valley
- Click on Connect Your Google Account and then click Agree & Continue
- On home screen, Select Your Account Again.
- On your profile page verify Country & Company field are filled, scroll down, click Continue
- Term of Service Agreement, Check Box and Submit
- Welcome to Skillshop window will pop-up, click on > until it closes
- Now, the most important step, while you are logged in to Skillshop:
- Click this link and select + Follow to gain special access to the HSI Grow with Google Career Readiness Program.
- On the navigation bar at the top of the page, click the = Browse icon/button.
- Scroll down to verify you see the HSI Career Readiness Program tile and now you are ready to get started.
