COEC students will conduct site visits, designed to add to their knowledge and skills in the field. The idea is to place the graduate students as point persons and have the undergraduates shadow them. They will observe and provide additional input for an assessment and energy audit of the building, and will make recommendations on how to help save energy and control costs.
Our Impact
We are creating wealth, savings and pride in the four counties of south Texas known as the Rio Grande Valley. The Valley is home to one of the fastest growing populations in the world with over 3.5 million people in the region and one of the fastest growing industry sectors in the USA. We aim to train students for jobs that are highly-paid and with growth potential. Furthermore, we aim to save our industry money in their operations so more jobs can be created in the Rio Grande Valley.
Our Goals
- Provide assessments to save enterprises substantial funds each year.
- Train students to conduct assessments.
- Ensure selected students receive certificates which enable them to be recognized as proficient in energy efficiency.
