Apple Distinguished Program
Apple Corporation has recognized the UTRGV Physician Assistant Program with its prestigious Apple Distinguished Program Award. The award is given for the 2013 - 2015 cycle. The receipt of this honor began in early 2013 with the nomination of the program by Apple Corp. representatives with knowledge of the innovative use of iPad technology in the PA curriculum. Leads on this project were Frank Ambriz, Department Chair and Elias Villarreal, Academic Coordinator. An iBook was created as part of the nomination process. The iBook highlights some of the ways the program has utilized the iPad in a variety of settings which include student on and off campus integration and faculty/staff utilization. The program continues to incorporate the iPad in groundbreaking ways.
