Resources

The Friday Workshop (October 16th, 2020), Simulation in Support of Digital Twins and
Industry 4.0 includes six modules. The middle four modules are designed for your hands-on
participation. You will get the most out of these if you have the Simio software available and
can work through the problems. It is not essential, but you will probably have best results if you
have two screens or one very large screen, so you can watch the presentation and follow along
in the software in another window.

To support model-building, you can obtain free software for download at:
https://www.simio.com/evaluate/. Simio Personal Edition will allow you to build the models we
will cover in the course and much more.

Most people find the software installation painless. After you install, load Simio and verify that
it works by dragging an object from the left panel into the center window. I also encourage you
to watch the short Simio Quick Start video for a brief introduction.

Process Improvement Principles, the book we are using in Module 5, can be found in the Simio
software via the Books button on the Support Ribbon. The associated examples can be found
in the Examples button on the Support Ribbon. If this workshop whets your appetite to learn more about Simio, in addition to a large number of books, Simio has comprehensive online training available. A special discount is being made available to workshop attendees. If you go to https://simio.talentlms.com/catalog, you can select any of the five paid courses at a 50% discount off the already low price. On checkout, just use coupon code SimioTrainingForUTRGVBootcamp to see the discount. The training course will be available for use and reuse for a full year, but this special offer is only good until November 15, 2020, so don’t procrastinate.

Looking forward to your participation in the bootcamp. For any questions or concerns you may
have, please feel free to contact us.

Regards, MBSE Bootcamp Team
