Supporting and building capacity is integral to our mission to serve nonprofit organizations across the Rio Grande Valley. The NRC delivers affordable training for nonprofits taught by subject matter professionals.

Our Nonprofit Workshop Series provides unique learning opportunities, networking, and a Q&A time with each presenter.

Nonprofits rely on employees, independent contractors, volunteers, interns, and other workers to carry out their charitable purposes. The law has special rules for each of these workers. If you want to learn about worker classification, wage and hour laws, and other employment-related issues, this workshop is for you.

This workshop will provide participants with a blueprint for developing competitive grant proposals, using actual grant application examples as a basis. The topics will include:

• Telling Your Story through a compelling statement of need, defined outcomes, and a detailed plan of action.

• Connecting the Dots and the Dollars through an evaluation plan, communicating how the funder’s support will be sustained beyond the grant, and a well-aligned budget.
