Collaborations and Partnerships

We collaborate with many regional nonprofit organizations to advance community impact. The Engagement Zone online portal matches volunteers with needs posted by nonprofit agencies, and our students and staff are encouraged to participate in community service. Our annual Community Partner Appreciation ceremony recognizes nonprofit organizations collaborating with our faculty to offer outstanding educational experiences for our students. carneige foundation elective classifications

In 2020, UTRGV was awarded the prestigious Carnegie Community Engagement Classification designation for our collaborative community service. This designation is an elective, evidence-based documentation process for self-assessment and quality improvement purposes. It allows universities to demonstrate their commitment to the communities they serve and to share good practice in the sector. It is the leading framework for institutional assessment and recognition of community engagement in US higher education.
