RIO GRANDE VALLEY, TEXAS – MARCH 7, 2025 – If you are considering going back to school or changing careers, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley offers two opportunities to explore a variety of master’s and doctoral degree options at its Graduate Fair.
The event is designed to meet the growing demand for advanced education in the region. At the fair attendees can engage in one-on-one conversations with faculty from various programs, providing insights into academic offerings and financial assistance opportunities.
Graduate Fair Schedule
Brownsville Campus
- Date: Thursday, March 13
- Time: 4-6:30 p.m.
- Location: PlainsCapital Bank El Gran Salon (BSTUN 2.36), One W. University Blvd.
Edinburg Campus
- Date: Thursday, March 27
- Time: 4-6:30 p.m.
- Location: University Recreation (UREC), 1201 W. University Dr.
“I strongly encourage everyone to take advantage of this event to invest in their future. This is an invaluable opportunity to get your questions answered about various graduate programs and discover the paths available to you,” said Stephanie Ozuna Larralde, director of Graduate Recruitment and Outreach.
In addition to the information available, participants can enter to win a $500 scholarship by completing an evaluation or starting a graduate program application during the event. Plus, the first 300 attendees at each location will receive a UTRGV t-shirt.

ABOUT UTRGV
The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) was created by the Texas Legislature in 2013 as the first major public university of the 21st century in Texas. This transformative initiative provided the opportunity to expand educational opportunities in the Rio Grande Valley, including a new School of Medicine, and made it possible for residents of the region to benefit from the Permanent University Fund – a public endowment contributing support to the University of Texas System and other institutions.
UTRGV has campuses and off-campus research and teaching sites throughout the Rio Grande Valley including in Boca Chica Beach, Brownsville (formerly The University of Texas at Brownsville campus), Edinburg (formerly The University of Texas-Pan American campus), Harlingen, McAllen, Port Isabel, Rio Grande City, and South Padre Island. UTRGV, a comprehensive academic institution, enrolled its first class in the fall of 2015, and the School of Medicine welcomed its first class in the summer of 2016.
