Mobile Lab Rebranding
"For this project, K-12 students were our main audience. I wanted to create something colorful, fun and eye-catching, a place where students and faculty could take a picture and share it with everyone. Our team wanted something unique and different that highlighted our students doing hands-on activities as well as all the services that C-STEM provides. I was able to create a STEM related visual experience for all of our South Texas families and community".

Transcript of KVEO Mobile Lab Interview
Reporter: The University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley's Mobile Laboratory is providing over 500 middle school students across the Valley and educational experience. In Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, all while encouraging students to join STEM field careers. UTRGV is also teaching students at Jaime Escalante Middle School in Pharr, how to test their own DNA.
Miguel Mendoza: Today we extracted DNA from the cheek. So pretty much what they did is they bite their cheeks to breakdown the cells that are in their mouth, spit into the cup, and then they extract with the devices with the salts and the alcohol and at the end, they get that little cloudy type DNA that they'll be able to take home with them.
Reporter: Pretty cool. Students say they understand in context on their science book better after this hands on experience.
