Makerspace AGricultural Internships (MAGI)
We are looking for Engineering students interested in Agricultural and Food Security projects.
The MAGI team of students and faculty are solving real-life, local-impact, multidisciplinary projects that address food-security challenges.

Project 1: Automated Honeybee Trap
A device that automatically captures honeybees during swarming by using a weight-sensitive trap and pheromones to attract them.
Project 2: Prawn Mixer to speed up prawn larvae growth.
Construct and improve a prawn mixer that will speed up prawn growth during their infancy while also maximizing the number of prawns that will fit in a closed tank.
Project 3: Shallow Oyster Farming System
Build a Shallow Water Oyster Farming System that is affordable to the people of the Rio Grande Valley, works in shallow water, and can easily be maintained by the Oyster Farmer.
