Certificate Overview
The Hospitality and Tourism Certificate will prepare students pursuing a marketing major with an option to take coursework that provides necessary hospitality industry specific KSA’s (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities). This will supplement and strengthen their marketing business degree and prepare them to pursue various sales and marketing careers in the hospitality and tourism industry. Some of the potential career paths for students choosing this track include:
- Sales and Marketing Management with leading Hospitality firms such as: Marriott, Disney, Darden Foods, Sodexho, Club Management Corp, Carnival Cruise lines, MGM Mirage among others.
- Franchise development positions with leading Hospitality firms such as: Hilton, Marriott, McDonalds, Subway, and other hospitality firms that franchise.
- Meeting and Event Sales and Marketing with leading destination marketing organizations and professional meeting, event, convention management companies.
- Hotel Transactions sales positions with leading hotel brokerage firms such as: Jones Lang LaSalle, Marcus Millichap, Hodges Ward Elliott, among others.
