The story of my name reflects my history, my present, and my future. I was given the name Kim Jung Hee by an orphanage in South Korea where my life story began. Thanks to a wonderful foster family, I was well taken care of until my adoption by my family in Minnesota. When I came to the U.S., my parents named me Rebecca and kept Kim as my middle name; creating a start to the life I would begin, while forever connecting me to my Korean roots. When I married, my last name changed to represent the family and future that my partner and I are creating together. As a liaison supporting future and current students who are foster care alumni, we are here to offer support and guidance as you design your path to your academic, career, and personal goals.
