1098-T Electronic Consent Guide

UTRGV Payroll & Tax Compliance Office offers students the opportunity to opt in of receiving official 1098-T forms electronically through ASSIST (IRS approved).

Opting in is easy to do. Log into UTRGV Assist and follow these simple steps:
     • Click on the Window Pane icon in the upper left corner of your ‘Assist’ landing page
     • Click on ‘Assist’
     • Click on ‘Personal Information’
     • Click on ‘General Student Info’; you will be directed to your ‘My Profile’ landing page
     • Click on ‘Action Items’; you will be directed to your ‘Action Item Processing’ landing page
     • Click on ‘1098-T Electronic Consent’
     • Click on your preferred consent setting.
          • If you select ‘I Consent.’, you will receive an electronic only copy of your Form 1098-T
             through ‘Assist’.
          • If you select ‘I Do Not Consent.’, you will receive a printed copy of your Form 1098-T.
     • Click on the ‘Save’ button.
