Mentor: Roxanne Farris

Title of research:

Adamari De La Cerda, Roxanne Farris, Annette Diaz. Molecular Diagnostics for Pathogen Identification.

Where I am now:

At the moment, I am finalizing my senior year at the Texas A&M University
Higher Education Center at McAllen as a Public Health major with a Biomedical Science minor.
My time in EFAS allowed me to continue refining my laboratory skills to better identify and
classify pathogens in efforts that supplement Sterile Insect Techniques (SIT). After graduation, I
plan to take my skills and apply them in graduate school in efforts that combine my interests in
Public Health and Biology to solve issues at the micro and macro scale
