Artist Statement

personal logoDesign has always been a natural way for me to express myself. As a child, I was drawn to colors, characters, and the way visuals could tell a story without needing words. I spent years imagining myself in creative fields—film, animation, art—but it wasn’t until I discovered graphic design that everything clicked. It gave me the tools to translate the way I see the world: full of color, softness, structure, and heart.

As a Hispanic artist, my cultural identity plays a quiet but constant role in my work. I carry with me a love for community, tradition, and storytelling—values that influence the way I design. I’m inspired by bright color palettes, gentle forms, and visuals that feel approachable and joyful. My work often leans toward the playful, the warm, and the expressive—because I want people to feel something when they see it. Whether it’s a logo, packaging, or a full brand identity, I aim to design with intention and heart.

My creative process is rooted in care. I start with research and concept-building, then move into thoughtful experimentation, always looking for a balance between clarity and creativity. I see design as a form of emotional communication—an opportunity to create something that feels both personal and universal.

Throughout my time at UTRGV, I’ve had the chance to grow into the designer I’ve always wanted to be. Projects like Saori, a Korean-inspired skincare and makeup brand, allowed me to explore soft beauty aesthetics with a playful twist. My branding for Las Dos Palomas, a traditional Mexican restaurant, gave me the opportunity to connect with cultural visuals in a meaningful way. Both works reflect the range and heart I bring to my designs.

I also founded my own freelance design studio, Tulip Studio Inc., based in Edinburg, Texas. I named it after tulips—my favorite flower—because they represent grace, simplicity, and renewal. Through Tulip Studio, I’ve been able to explore my voice as a designer while working with clients and creating thoughtful, personalized design experiences.

This exhibit is more than just a showcase of my work—it’s a celebration of the path that brought me here. It reflects my roots, my inspirations, and the future I’m building through design. I hope as you experience it, you see not just the final visuals, but the emotion, story, and identity behind each piece.

Thank you for taking the time to view my work and for sharing this moment with me!
