Artist Statement
I became interested in art due to this little application on the Nintendo DSi, called Flipnote Studio. This was the little animation app that introduced me to making animation, seeing other people’s animations also inspired me. Animated movies, anime and videogames also helped to spark this love of art and drawing, a chronic doodler if you will, I was always drawing as a kid whether it was my favorite characters or just silly doodles, although sometimes this would get me in trouble in class, but I’d say it was worth it. My interest in design came more so from my mother, she always had an eye for design, graphic, interior, architectural…etc. she is probably one of the biggest influences in my pursuit of art and my standards for work quality. My interest in the arts comes from many places and my inspirations are abundant. The most important thing to me about my work is, is if it gives me joy. I like to create art that gives me joy and may also give others joy. My art has always been made by me for me, but if it can make others feel something that is a bonus. My work process varies but it’s usually both organized but also chaotic at the same time, there’s a method to the madness.
