Artist Statement
I strongly believe my desire to create art is ingrained in my DNA. Picturing a world without my creativity is simply unimaginable. From an early age, I created art using the traditional media that was available to me. In elementary, I remember doodling in the back of my journal so I wouldn’t be scolded for drawing on assignments. This habit stayed with me all throughout my school career. Color pencils and ink are my favorite media, specifically ballpoint pens and Micron pens. I enjoy stippling and crosshatching to create photorealistic pieces. My favorite part of the process is when I show people my finished work. Seeing their expression as they gawk at my pieces in awe is what motivates me to continue making art.
As I grew older and journeyed through my artistic pursuits, an evolution occurred – a shift towards graphic design. This transition happened as I noticed my peers switching from traditional art to digital art. I tried taking an interest in digital art, experimenting with different apps and styles. That's when I dove into the world of creative possibilities with technology, leading me to the discovery of graphic design. I was fascinated by the fact that design is a universal language and a way to communicate various things such as ideas, stories, and emotions. After learning more about design, I made the decision to make graphic design my university major. Throughout my few years as a student designer, I have felt that I found what I was destined to do in this life. Being able to influence others through my designs through the storytelling from the icons used or the colors used is thrilling to me. I want to chase that high and share my passion through every design I make. I hope to make memorable and iconic pieces throughout my artistic career. May you continue to see my designs in the future.
