Exhibit Work

Coming to a movie theater near you, Masker will be the next thing to slash its way through onto the screen. Come and see the terror and dark events of a man who has snapped and has taken the joy of evil into his hands. A movie about a man who has been suppressing dark thoughts and tendencies that no normal person should have, as he unleashes it upon those that are sadly in his sights. The Masker’s most noticeable aspect of his character is the plague doctor mask he uses to not only hide his face and identity, but to adopt his persona that is now fueled by his broken psyche. Like how a certain villain from a certain spider movie was mentally transformed.

I decided to go with this movie project idea that I love not only making movie posters, but for the flexibility we were allowed for it. Such as the use and representations of dark themes. With the mix of both digital and photographic work, I aim to make a poster that uses photograph and illustrations as its base aspects blended in perfect sink. The whole gimmick with the idea is that in almost each glass shard there will be e image or “scenario” from the movie in black and white. While the center piece will be a colorized upfront view of the Maskers mask colorized breaking through the glass, shattering the point of views perspective and giving it a cool graphic effect. Along with adding styles and details of “stained” glass for the black and white images for the effect of blood and stains that you see in slasher films and horror posters. With the feeling of it reminisced on a similar feeling, which was inspired by a certain movie that I have seen in the past. As for the rest of the background, I decided to keep with the horror theme and add in a bloodstained background for the center mask, which coincidently match together with the glass stained look. Along with possibly making the letters of the movie's title drip like blood or form a sort of liquid style.

So, with that, come and see the preview of what you can expect, from this horror movie this semester.
