Exhibit Work

During the times I planned to see the latest episode of my favorite show or watch my favorite movies, I’d always make sure to watch it while eating my favorite snack, the good ole chip. Ever since I was little, I would always be amazed seeing the different kinds of chips and flavors that were featured within various convenient stores. When I started to think about the idea for my exhibit, I began to think about my childhood love for the Mexican based chips that I would purchase within the small Mexican town that my relatives lived in. I began to think about the times when my family and I would bond over with these snacks. It is then I decided it would be best to create my own chip brand.
Fichas is the name of my chip brand, meaning “tokens” in Spanish, and its origin came from me having the sudden thought of poker. Once I developed my logo and stayed with a vibrant color palette, I was ready to construct the identity for my chip brand. The identity of my chip brand will be featured throughout three projects. The first project consists of an advertisement poster in where the main product is placed within a game of poker. It is shown as a substitute for poker chips, considering the consumer “lucky” for trying its delicious flavor. The second project showcases the front and back of the original Fichas bag packaging. This packaging is, of course, accompanied by the actual product. The final project features several app screens of a potential Fichas app, showing off various aspects through the use of effective UI design. Due to the time in which we live in, I believed it was appropriate to showcase Fichas through a commonly used software.
