Artist Statement
I became involved in art at a young age. My mother once told me that she could tell that I would be an artist because when I was a toddler, I would take books and just start drawing all over them with crayons. This eventually evolved into drawing in sketchbooks. While growing up I also learned that I really liked computers. I knew that I had wanted to have some sort of career in the art field, but I was not sure as to what occupations were out there. After taking a few art and photography college courses I eventually came across graphic design that would combine both my interests in art and computers.
My creative process usually involves listening to electronic music in the middle of the night when I can think more clearly. I typically gravitate towards this type of music because there are minimal lyrics. Something about listening to computer generated music helps with the creative process. Then I will begin to start doing research, write down keywords that relate to the project, shapes, and colors that come to mind.
