My projects are about a video game, called Malgarden. It is a first-person gardening survival game. The player awakes in a plant dominated world. Where the only food source are plants. So, harvesting your own garden and creating a shelter to survive is a must because although during the day the world seems normal. By night this world is a completely different place. As a mysterious fog sets in and the plants come to live as plant monsters, they seek to harm anything in their path. You can choose to hide or fight. Or take adventures to unlock new places within this world and discover its mysteries.

My admiration for video games began in my early teens. I remember staying up late nights playing games with my brother. We’d play campaigns that would take us days to complete. Video games are not only fun, but they can be relaxing too, as well as stressful, but for good. Most games are meant to challenge you. They test your thinking, skills, ultimately pushing you to try your best. When I fail, they push me to keep trying until I win. They have also allowed me to create bonding experiences both in and out of the real world.

This game will teach the player how to garden in real life meanwhile the surviving aspect of it will be fictional. I wanted my poster to reflect the overtaking of nature’s role in this plant dominated world. Which is why the focal point is this fictional flower on a chunk of land. I chose colors that contrasted to foreshadow the game’s battle, between the darkness of the evil plants and hopefulness for the player. As for the logo I wanted it to portray the game as approachable. So, I designed the letters to have a fun personality. This also adds to making the game appear friendly much like the plants of the game seem to be initially. My other projects consist of a mockup of screens of the gameplay and a packaging mockup of the game. I will forever be grateful for the positive impact my gaming experience has been. Which is something I hope Malgarden will be capable of achieving as well.
