Artist Statement
I became so interested in art and design for as long as I can remember, a love sparked when I saw my father and his past artwork. It became a safe space for me where I didn’t have to worry about who or what I was going to be in this life and the next. I was into so many styles of clothing and kept up with all the fashion trends growing up. As I got older, I was looking into enrolling in fashion school but since I did not want to move so far away from home, I decided to take another approach into the art field. I always knew I was meant to design and inspire others with my work in anything I decided to aim for. That’s when I pursued graphic design and expression, I grew a passion and a deep love for something I always did as a hobby. I knew I could eventually branch out into the fashion industry by going this route and I know my dreams will come around in full circle someday. My work is very special to me because I try to bring my personal style into every piece I create. When I start designing, I want to always stay true to myself and always put the best version of me into my craft. I hope my work will inspire the younger generation to always stay true to their dreams in life as I did to mine. I was always told that art will never take me anywhere, but I know I found something that brings me so much happiness and a sense of peace. I hope someday my work will impact society to be a lot more appreciative and kindhearted to visual creators. Also, I hope my work will shine a light on my visual creativity and how I will always stay true to myself and my roots.
