The project I decided to do was to create a production company that produced animated films. The company’s name is Adler Productions and the one animated film they produced is a movie called FURYDOME, an action-thriller drama that takes place in a half Sci-Fi and half Steampunk fantasy world. We follow the four main characters that are depicted on the poster in a compelling story full of background secrets, fast-paced action, and dramatic turnabouts. With their own goals in mind, these four fighters will work together to defeat the arena and take home the grand prize. Or will they?
As an artist I have always enjoyed animation and illustration. My preferred genre of animation is Eastern animation, specifically Anime. To me, Anime is a wonderfully creative form of storytelling that is brought to life by such a unique style of animation. I love the anatomically designed characters, the detailed world that is established around them, and the riveting tales of companionship that come from the characters. I felt like I could capture that feeling in this project and so I went for it.
Along with the movie poster I also wanted to enhance the experience with a mockup of the concessions that would accompany the theatrical theme of the project. I designed the decal of a popcorn bucket and soda cup as promotional material for the movie, along with a fitting pair of 3D glasses. The third poster mockup depicts various locations for movie posters to be displayed. I edited my movie poster to match the setting and fit the color and tone for the mockups to have a believable depiction in those areas. As movies go, having the poster out in public helps promote the theatrical release and encourages people to go and watch the film to hopefully have a riveting experience in storytelling and animation style.
