During my childhood, I developed interest in drawing and painting. In elementary school, there was a student working on his drawing and it was enjoyable to watch him draw. The student was always enjoying drawing. Everyone was admiring the student's artwork. At one point, glitter pens were a big deal in the 90’s. They were extremely popular among students at the time. Everyone always wanted to color with glitter pens especially, drawing out the characters. The student who became my friend taught me how to draw a simple flower. Soon after, I started drawing horses myself. I even drew the Dare Devil from a comic book for another student who asked me to draw it and he was surprised I drew it well. Since elementary school, I knew I wanted to take art classes in middle school, but I also wanted to be in band. Since I could only choose one elective class, I chose band first. It was fun being a part of the band, but I always felt that band was not for me, since I was very shy. I became more involved in art after I entered seventh grade and joined the art class. My favorite class during that time was art. The other students in my class always seemed to appreciate my artwork and complimented me on my work as well as teachers.
Art class has helped me overcome my shyness and become more socialize. I studied art for two years in middle school and another two years in high school.Ceramics was one of my high school classes, and I also took a conventional art class. Mr. Ramirez was one of my art teachers in high school. He is a Graphic Designer major who is well known for his Smarty Cartoon. He draws cartoons and uses Photoshop extensively. Ramon Ramirez and I met at an art competition before I had him as an art teacher. He asked to see my ceramic art piece at the competition, and then he showed me his cartoon print out figure. I could not believe he drew the character, and I was blown away. I have never seen a Photoshop artwork before. After, meeting Mr. Ramirez I become interested in learning Graphic Design and Photoshop.
