Ghost The Pup

As a result of the pandemic, for my senior exhibit project I decided to create a fun book to teach children on how to keep their hands germ-free and help to prevent the spread of viruses. This book will help youngsters to maintain good personal hygiene and help during the pandemic. These past two years have not been easy for the little one and our loved ones. Worldwide, the pandemic prevents children from learning as they should, especially kids who are starting school for their first time. This book is written in a simple language that toddlers can understand. This would be a great book that I could create for my nieces and nephews to enjoy and can also be used for my BFA.
It is my pleasure to share with you my children’s book entitled Ghost the Pup written and illustrated by me. The book it about a miniature schnauzer puppy name Ghost and his owner’s name Tom that will show youngster how to wash their hands. I decided to use a puppy because many children enjoy reading books with animals in them. As a dog owner of miniature schnauzers, I found schnauzer personalities to be very funny, so I wanted to create a schnauzer character in this book.
This is an ideal for my BFA project, which is to create a challenging book. I wanted to do something innovative and comparable to what I've worked with in the past yet distinct from what I've never done before. I also wanted to stretch my illustration skills by making it enjoyable to work with.I am passionate about working with this children's book and excited to see the final product. My book will be using InDesign and Illustrator.
