Art has always been something that was present in my life, with my dad frequently sharing his love of painting and illustration throughout my childhood. I grew up with this appreciation and desire to learn how to create art and did what I could by taking art classes in school and searching for different forms of creative outlets. I was introduced to graphic design as a freshman in high school, and always thought of it as a career path I could see myself doing, thus leading to my interest in communication design and expression. It is important that my work is unafraid to be what I like. Although it sounds trivial, I love the cute and playful when it comes to design, and I strive to be taken seriously despite that. A designer that has influenced me in being a source of inspiration would be Kai Kwong. I love her use of color and how she is unafraid to be cute in terms of her design. In terms of my process, I work by determining the problem, creating the solution, allowing for feedback, and building upon that. A solution is only found whenever my work provides an effective solution in a way that is pleasing to the client, for I believe we can be blinded if we trust only ourselves in the process, and we must be open to criticism to grow.
