Cherry Heart

Growing up I’ve always loved pop music and artists. Whether it was the latest teen idol or the current trendy boy band, I loved how unapologetic these artists were no matter how cheesy or corny they were perceived as. For this reason I created Cherry Heart, which is a brand for a bubblegum pop group. When it comes to design, I’ve always been a sucker for the stereotypically cute. A lot of the times in class, we are told to avoid typically feminine colors like pink due to the fact that it would deter an audience. Since I was given the opportunity to design what I wanted in this class, I decided to go all in and try to capture the unabashed energy that pop artists carry. Even the title was an attempt to capture this energy. Pinks and reds and heart/cherry motifs seemed like the perfect fit for this group, along with the retro inspired type for the logo. Overall, I wanted to design a brand for a group that were unafraid to be stereotypically cute, and to be a pop group who’s poster you could’ve had in your bedroom.
