Artist Statement
Ever since childhood I have had a great love for art, whether that involved getting my hands on every coloring book I could as a child or drawing whatever came to mind I couldn’t stop my love for art. I knew that I wanted a career in the arts but didn’t know where to go until I grew to have a love for digital media. Seeing those wonderful images brought to life made me want to do the same. I found inspiration all over the place outside of class, movies, billboards, television and video games to name only a few.
They made me want to push myself and develop my skills into something I could be proud of, something I could look back on with pride. Taking dedicated art classes later in high-school helped me in finding art styles that suited me. The main goal of my art is to properly express both my emotions and my intentions in my art.
Some of my main points of inspiration stem from horror franchises such as Alien, and the video game series Doom. Their grungy and desolate atmospheres have been a source of great inspiration in the past when designing environments, both interior and exterior. On the other hand I gained an appreciation for character design from a mix of high fantasy and science-fiction sources. Such sources include those of Warhammer 40k and The Elder Scrolls, these two worlds aesthetics help me in designing body shapes, armored forms and robotics when the situation calls for it.
I have also gained inspiration from varying books and literature growing up, putting to paper the images made in my mind from a particularly thrilling novel or short story has always helped when my creative juices stop flowing.
