Robert Aguilar
Artist Statement
I am Robert Aguilar, also known as Abyss Bun in internet circles. I am an illustrator with his mitts in multiple mediums; to be a jack of all trades since they’re better than a master of one. I am a voice actor, video editor, streamer, storyboarder, writer, and animator with the hopes of studying 3d modeling. Since middle school has been making things up and writing them down so I can use these Ideas for later, and with multiple talents at my disposal I hope to craft many stories that will stay in the minds of the world unironically.
I became an artist for one reason, to inspire others to become artists and take up creative crafts. I feel modern society has rejected creativity to facilitate control of the minds, after all without an imaginative mind you get blind consumers and followers of dictators.
It doesn’t help that the upper crust’s hobby is mass layoffs and trying to replace artists with AI only for it to fail and fire everyone else.
I pursued this path because it is the one true freedom I have in life: the ability to either make something that exists or something new entirely and show it off to the world. I am a lover of the arts, and I aspire to be just like the ones I admire like James Baxter, One, and Shigeto Koyama among others. I hope that through my stories, drawings, and animatics I can inspire others to seek that Same freedom of creation, and every joy that comes with it. The world needs Imagination and I will remind them the value of art.
