This exhibit is a fictional movie poster for an animated film I hope to make someday, it is about a Catkin who becomes the first hero in a world where those with superpowers are evil. It is my response to the popularity of the “cynicism is realism” trope where superheroes aren’t heroes or the idea that you must be stupid to want to do good in the world.
This animated film will criticize the cynicism of the Snyder verse and the Boys (the comic, not the show) as well as tell a hopeful message since the protagonist Nyotaro is a good person through and through (Aka a Paragon), always striving to do the right thing, even if he stands alone. The First Hero is a story about hope, responsibility, and doing the right thing.
Nyotaro’s (Played by Todd Habberkorn) life was like any other in a world of superheroes. Going about his day and making the world a better place bit by bit. Until one day said supers revealed their true colors and staged a coup establishing a cruel regime where regulars are nothing but toys to the supers…Nyotaro’s brave stand against Icon (Played by Jake Green) earned him the attention of an ancient mage who granted the cat magical powers to stand up against these cruel overlords.
In this world, there are no such thing as heroes…So Nyotaro, armed with a belt that allows him to transform into Nyan-Go, will become the first hero.
