Artist Statement
Greetings, my name is Jackie Clynes. I am from Brownsville, TX, and ready to take the next step in my life. Creating art has always inspired me to explore beyond what I can. What motivates me is the thought of being able to express my ideas to others through art. The themes that are seen in my art are wonder and awe, especially futuristic and fantasy-like. What I want people to take away from looking around my art is a new perspective and to think about themselves especially. When I was 12, I watched my first anime, which catalyzed me to start making art and stories of my own. I saw how beautiful the idea was of creating stories and having something to express to others. Discovering animation opened my eyes to something I had never thought about before. Since then I started by drawing characters to creating digital artwork. Starting my career in graphic design I learned many different programs and techniques that have allowed me to grow as an artist. The materials I use for creating my work today are Procreate, illustrator, and Photoshop. I am still learning new techniques and ways to create intricate character designs and concepts. I want to have more knowledge in different programs so I can expand my capabilities. I have evolved from only using my sketchbook to finally digitalizing and bringing my art to life. I thank all the people who helped me grow as an artist and inspired me to keep going. My goal is to create a story with my art that touches people's hearts and makes them find a new perspective in life. I hope people take something with them when they see my art. I hope to one day be able to tell a story that can inspire many others to do the same. My art means a lot to me and I hope others can see the effort I put into my work. As I continue to push the limits I hope I can be able to keep growing as an artist and never stop expanding my horizons. I hope people can enjoy my work and see the potential that I have to offer.
