Exhibit Work
I still remember when I was younger and went to the store with my dad, that day I saw a pink machine that made mini cupcakes, I begged my dad to buy it for me and he did. I would always make mini cupcakes for celebrations in my family. Now that I’m an adult, baking is one of my favorite hobbies. It also helped me to destress myself from school or lift my mood when I felt sad.
To me making a bakery for my exhibit came quickly, since it is still something that I love. This project is about love and being able to share that love and care with others. Since to me baking goods is all about love and sharing them with people that I care about.
For this exhibit, I will be presenting an illustration of a cake that will be promoting my business. The poster size is 24x36 and will be displayed as my main piece for the exhibition. You will find the date for the soft opening and the location of my business, along with the time that the soft opening will be taking place. The colors I used for the illustration are soft pastels in the shades of pink and violet. I decided to use shades of red for the cake and the information on the poster so they could contrast with the pastel colors. In the background of the poster, we have a checkered pattern in the colors periwinkle and white, in the back of the checkered pattern you can see another violet shade and I put a grain effect so it would appear glitter in the back.
I decided to do a menu for my business. The colors are the same with soft pastels in shades of violet/periwinkle, pink, and some white color as for the background. I also added the same checkered pattern for the cover and back cover. On the front cover, I put my logo and the back cover has the social media of my business. On the second page of the menu, I put a pattern of pastries in the color white with a background in the color violet. The next two pages are the menu of the products that the bakery will be serving to the clients.
The final project will be a cup of coffee with the logo of the business. Along with this, I will put some stickers to promote the business.
