Artist Statement
The aspect of design even from a young age was something that I never realized I had loved and appreciated until I got older, from doodling the big and bold user interfaces and menus from the video games that I played to sketching out my own ideas of how it could look was always something that I enjoyed to do, now being at the point of my life that I am I can see why I was so fond of doing it in the first place. My appreciation of design was truly something that I was unsure I wanted to continue in life, as I figured it may not be something that I'd be the best at, but considering how much art surrounded my life, especially with my mother being my biggest inspiration to create in the first place, it was a no brainer to me eventually moving into the field of design. While I considered myself more of an artist rather than a designer early on, I realized how they could be beautifully be something that I could incorporate together, and by the time I reached the point where I was now both my abilities in the art and design department were improved beyond what I was originally able to create. Surrounding myself with friends and other people who shared the same interests drove me to not only continue in what I make but pushed me to push what I do for the better. I aim to always be creating fun and charming designs, inspired by the cartoons and games I'd watch and play, because personally while modern designs tend to be more visually appealing, I've always had the biggest soft spot for those fun bold designs and logos, which have sadly been seen less of in this day and age.
To me, the most important part of my work has always been my ability to create freely. Having the freedom to make what I love has always been the most important part of my career as both a designer and artist, and as I got older, I feared that I would eventually lose that mindset due to the harsh reality of life kicking in at a moment’s notice, but as of now I can confidently say that hasn't been the case in years. Taking my time to do what I do best is how I strive, and without that mindset I most likely would've given up what I consider I do my best a long time ago. I hope that my creations can display my feelings of fun and passion towards anyone who views them, and for those who feel inspired by them I wish the best in your own efforts in developing, whether you be in the creative fields or not.
