Exhibit Work

As far back as I can remember, I have always loved punk/rock music. I was born in a time when punk/rock music was at an all-time high. Early 2000’s rock music took the world by storm but at that time, I was too young to understand that type of music. I still enjoyed the vibe and aesthetic of these groups and bands, more specifically, their graphic design work. The graphic design work in particular that was used for these bands and groups was something I always admired and still admire to this day. The album covers, posters and merchandise in general were always messy looking, but also pleasant and presentable. Merchandise for these bands were always targeted more towards a young audience, from teenagers to young adults. As I got older, I started appreciating the music, the lyrics and the merchandise of these bands more than ever before. Around the time I reached my early teenage years, punk/rock music became my favorite genre of music and to this day as an adult, it is still my favorite music genre.
For this project, I wanted to make a punk/rock group that is similar to the groups and bands I listen to that were trending in the early 2000’s. That was when I came up with the idea for “The Punk Crisis”. They are a Texas-based band that performs old school punk/rock music. Punk/rock music does not feel the same as it did before, and that was when my idea for “The Punk Crisis” came to be because they are a group that was created in 2023 yet they perform like they were straight out of the early 2000’s. “The Punk Crisis” is inspired by bands and groups that were popular at the time, such as My Chemical Romance, Green Day and Linkin Park. Growing up in the valley, I came to realize that we rarely get punk/rock bands to perform in Texas. I wanted to make this band Texas exclusive and make them only perform in venues that are in Texas, such as venues in McAllen, San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, etc.
