Exhibit Work
To bring together all of the design knowledge and dedication to design, I decided to create a bakery/coffee shop named Antojito Panecito. Antojito Panecito is not just a bakery; it's a manifestation of love, artistry, and a lifelong passion for the delicious world of baking. Founded on a deep-seated adoration for the craft, my bakery is a testament to the belief that the simplest of pleasures—freshly baked bread and pastries—can bring immense joy and comfort. The name, “Antojito Panecito” comes from my Mexican background and is a common phrase said between myself and my family. Whenever my family and I wanted to sit down and come together, whether it was to catch up or wind down, we’d always say, “Se antoja un panecito,” translating to, “I’m craving some sweet bread.” With a warm cup of coffee, a sweet bread, and comfort we can sit down and come together, creating beautiful memories. I wanted to create those same warm and comforting vibes into my project, and hopefully bring the same feelings to those who visit the shop. The logo created for Antojito Panecito is mixed with brown and purple tones, with two illustrations attached to the top and bottom of the shop name. Although not too obvious, the illustrations were created with the intention of imitating the sugar coating on a traditional Mexican concha (Mexican sweet bread). The poster created is seen with a Mexican concha illustration and the quote, “One bite won’t be enough” and a background of other sweet desserts. I made the poster with the intention of showing not only a staple dessert from the shop, but also slightly showing all other options we’d have available! The color palette of my exhibit was selected to bring together all who come by, and create a calm ambiance for all. Hopefully the exhibit can express my own love and comfort for a simple coffee and sweet bread to all who see, and help bring them and their loved ones together as well
