COVID-19 Update: Campus Operations

Friday, April 3, 2020 :: University Marketing & Communication

The City of Edinburg issued Friday an order requiring all Edinburg residents to wear protective facial covering over their mouth and nose. The order goes into effect at 5 a.m. Monday, April 6.

How does this affect me?

Based on this current information, UTRGV is asking all students, faculty and staff (from throughout the Rio Grande Valley) to stay home Monday as the university works to develop proper guidelines. There is a good chance other local counties and cities will follow suit, so it is important the university is adequately prepared for this change.

Please note campuses will still be operating on Monday and all classes will be offered as scheduled. However, most on-campus services will have to be provided by phone or online. Our police departments and medical facilities will remain open.

Thank you for your patience during this extremely fluid situation. Our main concern continues to be the health, safety, and security of our UTRGV community.

Please regularly check your email for the latest updates or visit our resource webpage.

As always, if you have any questions please reach out to your supervisor for guidance.
