Dear friends and family,
I’m writing this during a time of extreme excitement and anticipation in the Rio Grande Valley! As you may have heard, The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRGV) and The University of Texas System Board of Regents recently approved the addition of an NCAA Division I Football program, and I am honored to serve as the inaugural Head Football Coach. I accepted the opportunity and responsibility of this position because of the resounding local support for UTRGV Athletics. My family and I are very excited to come home to the Rio Grande Valley!
The hard work starts today to build the UTRGV Football program – we will strive to take the UTRGV Athletics program to new heights, and we will get there! I am confident in the success of our football program because it will be built on a solid foundation created by our alums, our athletic director and coaches, and our supporters.
I know how powerful a football program can be for a university and its surrounding community. And I know, without a doubt, we will transform the RGV – but we can’t do it without you. Our future starts today, with you!
