Your shot at $100 or UTRGV swag!
Dear Employees,
Help protect yourself and others by getting your booster shot/3rd dose, and we’ll give you $100 (subject to payroll tax) or a UTRGV swag pack as a thank you for doing your part to prevent the spread of COVID-19!
Just upload your COVID-19 vaccine card showing you have received your booster shot to the UTRGV Vaccine Portal by April 8, 2022 to qualify.
Who is eligible?
This employee incentive program is available to all active non-student employees (any classification other than GRA, GTA, WS, and STU) who have a current assignment in the PeopleSoft HR System. Please note that you can only receive the booster incentive once. If you are eligible, and you are both an employee and student, it is to your advantage to elect to receive the incentive as a UTRGV student.
When all your information has been submitted and received by UTRGV, we’ll start the process of sending you:
- $100 (subject to payroll tax) added directly to your monthly paycheck. If you complete all the requirements in the portal by:
- February 15, the payment will be included in your March paycheck
- March 15, the payment will be included in your April paycheck
- April 8 (the incentive deadline), the payment will be included in your May paycheck
- OR if you want an option that is not subject to payroll tax, the UTRGV Swag Pack (valued at $100) includes a sweatshirt, baseball cap, tumbler cup, car decal, drawstring backpack and key chain

There are some MUST haves for this incentive:
- Get your booster shot/3rd dose by April 8, 2022; if you have already received your booster/3rd dose, you are also eligible!
- Update the UTRGV Vaccine Portal with booster/3rd dose date.
- Upload your vaccine card.

Need to get boosted?
There are several ways you can make a booster shot/3rd dose appointment:
- Get your booster shot/3rd dose at UT Health RGV Health locations. Request an appointment via your UTRGV Vaccine Portal or call UT Health RGV Employee Health locations directly: Edinburg: (956) 296-1731 and Brownsville: (956) 296-1519.
- We’re planning UT Health RGV pop-up booster events in the future. Please check link.utrgv.edu/booster-incentive/ for the latest information.
- You can also get your booster shot/3rd dose at one of our designated UT Health RGV sites. For instructions on how to make an appointment at a UT Health RGV location visit utrgv.edu/vaccine/.
- Get your booster/3rd dose at another publicly designated location (examples: primary care clinical sites, pharmacies, or your local health department).
This program is made possible by the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III (HEERF III), authorized in Section 2003(a)(1) of the American Rescue Plan, Public Law 117-2, effective March 11, 2021 (ARP). Under HEERF III and the ARP, institutions are required to implement evidence-based practices to monitor and suppress coronavirus in accordance with public health guidelines.
